About the artwork Pink Captive (Detail)
This painting is actually a small, blow-up section of another painting I'd done previously. I liked the negative space in the painting, and thought that would make an interesting work in its own right. In the original painting, the pink object on the right is a lamp, and the red is the shadow made by the lamp, sitting on a table.
