About Snakes I oversized
Brightly coloured snake artwork on flowing silk chiffon. 100% silk, made in Italy and finished with a fine pin hem.
The print is based on an ink painting of snakes, arranged here in colourful overlays which render it slightly abstract with an emphasis on the texture of the skins. The vibrant hues bring a burst of vitality, to uplift the mood and brighten your day.
A large silk chiffon scarf is a great accessory to use all year round, as it is lightweight and not bulky. It can be worn long and floaty, or wrapped around the neck, draped over a simple evening dress, or wrapped around bare shoulders on a breezy evening… The fine fabric and burst of colours of this Snake print silk scarf make it a statement piece day or night. The variety of colours combine well with blacks, neutrals or other block colours, also you can choose which colour combination to feature on the hanging edges depending on how you fold it – blue and pink/red, or orange and green (see pics).

CARE
Dry clean.
Silk and wool are protein fibres which naturally repel dirt and hardly take on any smells, so they don't need to be cleaned often.
Steaming the scarf works wonders – it removes all wrinkles and also 'desinfects' it (removing potential smells and killing microorganisms), and it usually ends up looking like fresh from the cleaners. For this you can use a garment steamer or simply hold it approximately 2ft / 70cm over a boiling kettle for a few seconds (don't scold yourself in the process :)
If it needs a clean, dry cleaning is recommended.
Lukewarm water and mild silk/wool detergent would not damage the print, but for the feel of the silk or wool it's still better and safer to dry clean it.

She trained with Alexander McQueen and is one of the artists contributing to the iconic scarves collections by Hermès Paris.
Through her personal and commissioned work, she shares her love for the natural world, and a desire to distil its magical and mysterious essence.
The drawings have a focus on organic textures and their intrinsic patterns, assembled as mesmerising allovers or harmonious compositions. The content and subject matter draws from observation of nature, as well as from our collective cultural history, a part of our identity we share through image and myth. The work is fundamentally playing with our need to find meaning in a mysterious and multifaceted reality.
Arlette’s signature fur prints are drawn in pen and ink, resulting in a combination of figurative and textural. These mesmerisingly intricate designs often simultaneously embody a kind of minimalism, creating a fusion between opulence and simplicity.
Her business embraces a ‘buy less, buy better’ ethos, respecting resources and people. All products are manufactured in Europe using the best possible materials and processes, aiming for timelessness and substance in all aspects. The fashion line embodies the ‘slow fashion’ concept, with timeless pieces created for individuals who know what’s for them.
Arlette has a degree from University of the Arts London, Camberwell College of Arts (BA Hons Graphics) and has exhibited in various art shows, design festivals and galleries in Europe (London, Paris, Berlin, Dresden, Lisbon, Kortrjik) and the far east (Tokyo, Taipei, Shanghai, Beijing, Hangzhou).
