My artistic practice is deeply rooted in the exploration of printmaking and its sculptural extension, with the inherent tension between repetition and originality serving as a metaphor for a broader social and cultural context.
In the dynamic interplay between tradition and innovation, my work seeks a nuanced dialogue between materiality and perception, and in recent years the focus has shifted to the tension between colour, form and space. These overlaps become fertile ground for questioning and redefining the boundaries of the artwork itself. With this in mind, my works often deal with themes such as memory, identity and everyday, seemingly banal things and circumstances, inviting a reflective and immersive experience.
My artistic oeuvre sometimes draws heavily on the aesthetics of modernism. Based on basic geometric figures, my works explore the principle of seriality, which is also central to screen printing, and the relationship between colour, rhythm and movement. The interaction between the viewer and the artwork also plays an important role, as does the idea of constantly experiencing the respective work anew by changing one’s own perspective.
Since 2006, I have developed experimental and versatile screen printing techniques during several working stays in the UK, Ireland, Sweden, Australia, New Zealand and China. Subsequently, I founded a screen printing studio in Vienna, specialising in artistic screen printing and graphic design for interior design and art commissions.
Therefore, Collaboration and interdisciplinary approaches are vital to my methodology, allowing for a dynamic exchange of ideas and the expansion of my visual and conceptual vocabulary. It is through this collaborative spirit that my work seeks to transcend the confines of the gallery space, engaging with the public realm and the community in meaningful ways.
Folded Figures
from € 820
The works in the new series “Folded Figures” are a further development of the “Figures” series from recent years. The idea behind this series is an exploration of the formal language of geometric concrete art, while also engaging with spontaneous painterly gestures. Each piece plays with Op-Art (Optical Art) effects, as the paper is creased and folded along precisely defined lines and color transitions to form paper reliefs. Through the three-dimensional shaping of these paper sheets, […]
Figures
from € 690 to 870
The starting point for the latest works in the Figures series is scalable images from the daily press and scanned newspaper pages. Various contents are transformed according to a numerical value system and, through the reworking of analog sources, take on a new visual form. The resulting visualizations have a strongly geometric character, although complex shapes can also be calculated using algorithms and extracted from the content of the respective newspaper page into geometric patterns.
