Kostas Protopapas was born and raised in Greece, obtaining a Bachelor in Informatics and Telecommunications from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and a Master in Pedagogy from the same institution. After his military service he started teaching Mathematics and Algorithms in institutions in Greece and also in private.
In 2015 he decided to pursue his dream since he was a child and moved to Barcelona to study academic drawing and painting in the renowned Barcelona Academy Of Art. After graduating in 2018, he transitioned into teaching at the same institution, where he currently serves as both an instructor and coordinator in the painting program. . His teaching portfolio spans the full spectrum of artistic development, from foundational drawing to advanced painting techniques. He also leads the Advanced Colour Theory Course.
In 2024 he started teaching workshops with his good friend and colleague Carl de Jager in order to transfer their knowledge all around the world to people that want to learn academic drawing and painting.
His work as a practicing artist is deeply influenced by the French academics and from the great flower painters of the past due to his love of color and he always tries to reach a higher level of academic painting.
